There are wonderful communities of Jewish women in the DC Metro area. It has been my pleasure in meeting them through my Landmark Education courses and my friends Dr. Carmel Dekel and Lisa Beltz, who is moving back to Israel soon with her new husband and family. Lisa graciously shared Shabbat (Sabbath) and other cultural experiences during the times she stayed at my house while in the area for her classes. Carmel has been a fun, energetic spark in our house and has further introduced me to the community. It is a natural conversation to speak to each other about our cultural experiences. We discuss the choices we make to try to be the best individual we can be and live in a culture that is ancient and modern at the same time. I was happy when they informed me about their snoods and dress robes and the opportunity I could have in providing a local resource for them. Our first Snood Party is happening October 5th, coordinated by Dr. Erica Statman. I am honored to be making beautiful apparel for these women who are surrounded by beauty, grace and power as they demonstrate the courage and commitment to their culture. Thank you for this opportunity and Shalom!
