THIS PIECE IS SOLD! IT WAS BOUGHT BY THE EITELJORG MUSEUM AFTER WINNING THE 2008 PURCHASE AWARD AT THE EITELJORG MUSEUM INDIAN MARKET.
King-Size Masterpiece Grand Entry Quilt: 8 drum groups with dancers, Emcee and spectators in blue border. Yes, there is even a taco booth! Decided to not auction this piece. This piece retails for $6,200, yet our asking price is just $5,000. I can guarantee the value will increase for this piece, given its significance as my first king-size quilt on a long arm machine. The top is actually an Amish quilt top that I purchased at a fundraiser to help their community with medical bills. I never use plain white fabric, except satins in small doses. This has been stored for a couple years. When I was working on a long arm, I wanted to try doing a king size after finishing a few small wallhangings. I did not draw any of these images out first. I simply 'saw' the people right where they are. I finished the quilting in 12 hours of sewing time over two days. My next masterpiece will be priced at minimum $7,000
I want to thank the quilt shop where I rented time on a HQ16. Main Street Quilt Shop in Maryland. I have now purchased a Statler long arm and will be creating designs for that system.
